BiographyBeing an artist has always been my dream and each painting I create is a chance to express a vision in my heart. I enjoy painting with watercolors because their transparency can give a feeling of depth, a warm glow and an endless rainbow of color to the finished piece. When painting I combine the best qualities of watercolor with creativity and detail achieving a captivating and authentic illustration.
Some of my favorite images to portray are the landmarks at our local universities and pretty snapshots of nature. Thank you for your interest in my watercolors, it’s wonderful to have the opportunity to paint them. I studied fine art at Indiana University and earned an Associate Degree in Commercial Art Technology at Indiana Vocational Technical College. My talent and degree have earned me positions as an art director, graphic designer and freelance artist. My love of design and painting has led to the creation of many beautiful watercolor paintings. I am an honorary life time member and past president of the St. Joe Valley Watercolor Society. My watercolor painting "Campus Sunset" won the Bea Zimmerman Memorial Award and was published in the international book “The Best of Watercolor - Splash 12, Celebrating Artistic Vision.” Another painting “Leeper Park Bridge” was the image chosen to promote the nationally acclaimed Leeper Park Art Fair, it also won the Hoosier Women Artist Award and was displayed for a year in the Indiana Lieutenant Governor’s office. |
